Her passion for birth and natural medicine sprouted as she studied alongside the Ecuadorian midwives learning from diverse cultures about childbirth and women's health. Later, Jamie graduated from the PUCE University in Quito, Ecuador completing a thorough 400-hour doula training in 2017.
One of Jamie’s strengths is building community and teaching meditation in motion workshops. Jamie received her 200-hour yoga teacher training and massage certification from Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda school in Massachusetts in 2010. Jamie offers dynamic prenatal/postpartum yoga classes and childbirth education classes for many diverse families. Jamie is fluent in Spanish and offers doula support to the Latina Community. Also, appointment/labor translation and workshops in Spanish.
After living in Ecuador for six years, she returned to the US to deepen her education. She has worked with many different midwives as a midwife assistant and doula in the area attending births both in and out of the hospital setting. Jamie recently graduated from the National College of Midwifery program and is working as a Midwife Assistant, Massage Therapist & Doula. She recently completed an intensive clinical training at Maternidad la Luz in El Paso TX and is preparing to take the NARM, a National Midwifery Licensure Exam.
