Having a low breast milk supply is probably the TOP concern I’ve heard from moms. Low supply can be caused by so many different things, sometimes isn’t even actually an issue of low supply, and is hardly ever unable to be solved! After going through all of the questions I ask in an assessment of suspected low supply, I thought to myself, “This could totally be a flow chart!”
This flow chart is NOT all inclusive, and there are plenty of things I didn’t include on here. That’s why I always suggest meeting with a lactation consultant. But, that’s not always possible due to time, finances, or I don’t a know, nationwide stay-at-home orders.
That’s why I wanted to create this flow chart - so that you can better create a plan of action on your own to figure out if you’re truly struggling with low supply! There is so much information out there, and it can be overwhelming to try to sort through it. I wanted you to have a simplified version, all in one place. This flow chart will guide you to the things you can try on your own, and let you know when it’s time to reach out for help.
I hope this helps you! You can find the flow chart as a pdf here - Honeydew You Low Supply Flowchart.
